Other Policies

Prospective Pregnant Registrants

We do not accept registration into our courses from pregnant students. Normally it is considered safe and desirable to workout during pregnancy as the workout is being tailored to an individual and her particular stage of pregnancy, however courses cannot be geared to pregnancy or to that particular individual. We believe that by allowing participation by a pregnant student, we expose both ourselves and the student to unnecessary risk.

We allow auditing of the following STOTT PILATES® courses if a student has previously taken them: IMP, IR, ICAD,ICHR, IBRL, AM, AR, ACAD, ACHR, ABRL, CMR, CCCB, RMR1, RMR2, RCCB1 and RCCB2. We also allow auditing of the ISP course if taken post June 2007 to present with a $399.00+tax fee. This fee will also allow you to participate in the course.

We do not however, allow auditing of any of the workshops we offer (CEC / introductory) as the main goal of the workshops is continuing education and not certification.

Course Materials

Students must have their own complete course package exclusively for their use during the course. The materials vary from course to course and need to be ordered by the student from Merrithew.com. Our Education Coordinator will let you know exactly what materials are required for each course during the registration process.

Video or Audio Recording

Audio or video recordings of courses being taught is strictly prohibited. If there are exceptional circumstances that make this necessary, the student must apply for and receive express written permission from Merrithew Health & Fitness™ and sign a contract restricting its use. This policy is to help us avoid any infringement on our intellectual property.

Exam, Reinstatment, Scheduling & Fees

All STOTT PILATES® Exams need to be scheduled by our Education Coordinator due to the nature of the scheduling parameters. We will be able to schedule your exam if you are within the examination deadline for your particular course. If you are outside or have past your examination due date, you will need to complete an exam reinstatement.

The exam fee is different for different courses and examination levels. If you paid a NON refundable registration fee with your course and are inside of your 6 month exam deadline window, that fee is transferable to your exam at our studio ONLY. It will cover the cost of a Mat/Reformer LVL 1 exam. If you are outside of your deadline window, you will need to complete a reinstatement hour.  You will also be responsible for the full fee for your particular exam.

Exam Reinstatement process if you fail to meet your 6-month requirement

If you have failed to meet the six-month requirement to complete your examination, you must complete private review hours with an instructor trainer to reinstate your eligibility. The number of hours required is based on the course material that must be covered and the demands of the course repertoire. The MINIMUM requirements are as follows;

Matwork – 1 hour
Reformer – 1 hour
Matwork & Reformer – 1 to 2 hours
Matwork, Reformer & CCB– 2 to 3 hours.

Please note: The reinstatement is valid for 60 days. Your exam bust be completed within the 60 days from the reinstatement date.
