Simoné’s fascination with the body and how it works has been a constant factor throughout her life. She started dancing at the age of 5 until early adulthood. After completing her Bachelors in Nursing Science, she practised as a registered nurse in various fields. While
working ICU, Simoné worked closely with medical professionals including physiotherapists and occupational therapists. During her time in ICU she noticed that the passive and active exercises done with critical patients really made a difference to that patient’s prognosis. She came to realize movement (even passive) is so important for healthy living and the building of strength to accomplish daily living activities.

A fellow ballet friend and colleague introduced her to Pilates. She became hooked after her first Pilates mat class. In 2012 she decided to try some mat based Pilates classes right here in Calgary at Calgary Pilates Centre. The personal touch and attention to detail with her first private as a client, made her realize that Pilates has been her calling all along. Working with clients and seeing results has been her greatest joy. She is a fully certified STOTT PILATES instructor and additionally trained in TRX suspension method and Total Barre.
